Simpsons Home Alone

The first was Some Enchanted Evening when she roars at the kids. The second Nick's bowling shop that Marge goes to has a picture of Jacques from the episode Life on the Fast Lane. In its original airing on February 6, 1992, on Fox during February sweeps, the episode acquired a 14.2 Nielsen rating and was viewed in approximately 13.08 million homes. It finished 25th in the ratings for the week of February 3–9, 1992, up from the season's average rank of 37th. This is the first episode since season 2 that Chief Wiggum has blue hair. Maggie is then found on the edge of the top of an ice-cream shop by the police.

Bart and Lisa dislike living with Patty and Selma because they snore loudly, watch MacGyver and Divorce Court, and serve meals of tongue sandwiches, Clamato, Mr. Pibb and soy milk. The scene at the train station where Marge leaves for Rancho Relaxo includes a brief cameo appearance of a character modeled after director Jim Reardon. In this episode, "Homer Alone," Marge has a very stressful day and she has a mental breakdown. She decides to take a personal vacation, leaving Bart and Lisa in the care of Selma and Patty and Maggie in Homer's care. The title of this episode is a parody of the Home Alone movie series. When Homer finds out Maggie is missing, he puts his hands on his cheeks and screams like Kevin McCallister from the movies.

Ep 8: Lisa's Pony

The background in the sequence references the Hanna–Barbera tradition of using backgrounds over and over and making it look like there is an "endless living room". The scene where Marge is booked in prison references the Coen brothers film Raising Arizona. He had noticed that most of the writers were pitching stories about Bart and Homer, and he thought a "deeper vein of comedy" could be reached by having Marge suffer from a nervous breakdown. Executive producer James L. Brooks immediately approved the idea. Originally, Marge's trip was to a distressed mother's institute so they could show "what made Marge tick".

The scene at the train station where Marge leaves for Rancho Relaxo includes a brief cameo appearance of a character modeled after Simpsons director Jim Reardon. Reardon dislikes flying, and took trains whenever possible, so the animators always tried to include him in scenes at a train station. Susie Dietter served as assistant director for the episode and animated several of the scenes for the subplot with Bart, Lisa, Patty and Selma. In a scene where Homer sings a song to Maggie, he was designed to look dishevelled because the writers had wanted him to look drunk, although no attention was called to it.

The band recorded a slightly different tempo of their one-hit wonder specifically for this episode. There were some scenes in the trailers for this episode which didn't get to air. After Homer staples Maggie's diaper shut, he picks her up, and the changing board comes with her. This is the third time a case of an ironic musical hold has caused a Simpsons character to burst into tears. The first was in Stark Raving Dad when Marge dialed Calmwood Mental Institution and was placed on hold while Crazy by Patsy Cline played. The second time was in Saturdays of Thunder when Homer dialed the National Fatherhood Institute and Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin played.

She is moved by this and exits the car, but is later arrested by the police. Wanting to have the female voters on his side for a political gain, Quimby orders him to release Marge. Wiggum refuses by pointing out how much she's angered the motorists in Springfield with her forced gridlock and refusing to move her car. He makes his case clear that Marge is a danger to the town and must remain locked up.

Ep 24: Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?

According to executive producer Al Jean, the writers often used McClure as a "panic button" when they felt an episode needed more humor. The episode's title is a play on the 1990 film Home Alone; David Stern's brother Daniel had starred in the movie as one of the main antagonists. Upset by her mother's absence, Maggie leaves the house to find Marge. When Homer and Barney are unable to find her, Homer calls a missing baby hotline. Maggie is found atop the roof of an ice cream shop and returned to Homer as Marge leaves the spa.

This episode was written by David M. Stern, whose brother Daniel starred as Marv the bandit in the first two Home Alone movies. The opening scene of the episode, where Homer is chasing Bart, is a parody of the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote chase scenes from the Looney Tunes cartoons directed by Chuck Jones. When Marge leaves for her vacation there is a man on the train platform checking his watch. The beginning of the episode where Homer chases Bart is a reference to the Warner Bros./Chuck Jones Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons. The scene freezes, during which Bart and Homer's scientific names are given as Brat'us Don'thaveacow'us and Homo Neanderthal'us respectively.

After Marge's breakdown, we need the relief of Rancho Relaxo almost as much as Marge does. We need the finest R-rated movies Europe has to offer even more. When Homer calls the Department of Missing Babies to report that Maggie has disappeared, the on-hold music is "Baby Come Back" by Player.

The episode's title references the film Home Alone, which starred David Stern's brother Daniel. She leaves Bart and Lisa with Patty and Selma; Maggie stays at home with Homer. Marge enjoys her much-needed rest while the rest of the family find it hard to adapt to life without her.

The footage of Homer calling to report Maggie's disappearance was recycled from Saturdays of Thunder. The song that plays while Homer is on hold on the missing child hotline is "Baby Come Back" by Player. One of the films available at Rancho Relaxo is Thelma and Louise, which Marge ends up watching. "Homer Alone" is the first episode of The Simpsons that shows Patty's and Selma's fondness for MacGyver, and Selma says "Richard Dean Anderson will be in my dreams tonight." "Homer Alone" contains references to the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons, Thelma and Louise, Home Alone, MacGyver, and the song "Baby Come Back" by Player. The episode has received generally positive reviews from critics.

Quimby refuses to budge on the issue and tells Wiggum that if they keep her in jail, the women will protest against them. While Marge spends a couple of days at Rancho Relaxo after she has a breakdown, Bart and Lisa stay with Patty and Selma, and Homer stays at home to take care of Maggie. Marge decides to take the family to the mall but Bart cannot go because he replaced Principal Skinner's shampoo with cofeee.

Ep 12: I Married Marge

Chief Wiggum thinks she is trying to commit suicide, but she is actually sleeping next to the statue of an ice-cream cone that looks like Marge's head. Not knowing the police have found Maggie, Homer prepares to apologize to Marge. He first talks to himself, practicing explanations for Maggie's disappearance, but then Chief Wiggum arrives and returns Maggie to Homer.

Marge finds her forlorn and disheveled family waiting for her on a train platform when she arrives home. While Homer and the kids are sleeping next to her that night, Marge tells them she needs their help around the house; they assure her she has nothing to worry about. The episode was written by David M. Stern and directed by Mark Kirkland.

From handmade pieces to vintage treasures ready to be loved again, Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. It’s also home to a whole host of one-of-a-kind items made with love and extraordinary care. While many of the items on Etsy are handmade, you’ll also find craft supplies, digital items, and more. This is the fifteenth episode of the third season of the Simpsons and once again, we have another great episode on our hands. There are many highlights including the scenes where Bart and Lisa had to eat tongue sandwiches and where there was a shady confrontation between Mayor Quimby and Chief Wiggum.

However, the plot was not well received at the table read for the episode. The opening scenes are quite similar to Some Enchanted Evening , with Marge feeling overstressed and unappreciated by her family. In both episodes, Marge's distress is broadcast through the media, and Homer is embarrassed at work when her identity is revealed through a live broadcast. After a long search from Homer and Barney, Homer calls the police to help him.
